Biographies
Daniel Murray, President
– After growing up in Homewood, Alabama, Daniel began his
construction career in 1996, while enrolled at Auburn University, by
joining one of Alabama’s largest and most recognized general
contracting firms as a coop student. After receiving a Bachelor of
Civil Engineering degree from Auburn University in 1998, he joined
the firm full time and played a significant role in preconstruction
and project management while the company grew from a volume of $400
million per year to an annual volume of over $1 billion. Daniel
specialized in estimating and managing large multi-family, retail,
office, and healthcare projects. He spent over five years of this
time serving as one of the lead project managers on a 900,000 square
foot $250 million hospital project in downtown Birmingham. In 2006,
after ten years with the firm, Daniel acted on a vision to start a
construction business that would provide the service expected by
clients who value a higher level of quality, professionalism,
customer service, and attention to detail. Daniel and his wife Cary
live in Homewood, AL and are the parents of three boys; Ben, Grayton,
and Parks.
Dustin
Love, Assistant Project Manager - Dustin began his
career in the construction industry during his Junior Year at Auburn
University where he graduated with a degree in Business
Administration with a main course of study in Entrepreneurship.
After graduating, Dustin accepted a foreman position with a large
residential construction company in his hometown of Mountain Brook,
AL where he quickly was promoted to Superintendent.
In 2007, he began working as a
Project Manager for a commercial contractor based in Dallas, Texas,
where he coordinated and supervised the renovation of three
apartment complexes in Homewood, Alabama.
Dustin’s eager spirit and his
background in entrepreneurship attracted him to Murray Building
Company, and he quickly took stock in the company’s business plan
and focus on quality. In March 2008, he took a position with the
company as Assistant Project Manager, and has played an integral
role in the success of several projects.
Dustin and his wife Kathleen live in Irondale, Alabama.
Tony
Rouse, Superintendent/Estimator - As a young high
school graduate from Colorado, Tony joined the US Army Special
Forces. After jumping out of perfectly good airplanes and proudly
serving his country, Tony began his career in construction with a
large general contractor in Miami Beach, Florida. Tony eventually
earned a position as lead carpenter for the concrete division, where
he managed over 20 employees.
With a desire to further his
education, Tony enrolled at Warner University (Florida) where he
studied Business Administration and Computer Information Systems.
Shortly after graduating, he took a position with a home inspection
company and earned his American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI)
certification. After years of dedication to one of the largest
homebuilders in the Tampa, FL area, he decided to start his own
company, Rouse Construction, Inc., which specialized in high-end
residential remodeling.
As the residential market in
South Florida began to slow, Tony and his family decided to relocate
to the Birmingham area, where he took a position with Murray
Building Company as a Superintendent in June of 2007. While
assisting on several construction estimates which became successful
projects, Tony found his niche as an estimator and spends most of
his time in a lead role with the estimating department. Tony also
utilizes his talents in serving as chairman of the software
committee and Information Technology Systems leader.
His impeccable attention to
detail and interest in upholding the high standards of Murray
Building Company has contributed in the company landing several key
projects.
Tony and his wife Megan reside
in Calera, AL. He is the proud father of his beautiful daughter
Madison and is expecting another daughter in June 2009.
Charles
McKinstry, Project Superintendent – Charles has been
involved in construction since 1994, serving most recently as the
Executive Office, Business Administrator, and Project Manager for a
company that acquired and developed properties in the Birmingham
area. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration with Management emphasis from Livingston University,
Charles made his way into the construction industry, honing his
skills in the field primarily as a superintendent and lead
carpenter. Charles joined Murray Building Company as a
superintendent in March, 2009. He and his wife, Jackie, live in
McCalla, AL with their three children.
