We are growing! Murray Building Compnay is currently hiring a Senior Estimator, Project Superintendent and Estimator.
The Senior Estimator has a key role in the Preconstruction Services Department and is responsible for managing from inception to completion the estimating process for all projects assigned to this role. This process includes but may not be limited to business development, client engagement, budget development/submission, detailed and comprehensive quantity takeoff, accurate cost evaluation, subcontractor/supplier bid solicitation, subcontractor/supplier scope/qualification/cost evaluation, risk evaluation, and bid submission. The Senior Estimator is also responsible for management of assigned estimating personnel, preconstruction technology assessment/development, final approval of bids/budgets prepared by assigned personnel, management of subcontractor/supplier relations, and continual development of preconstruction procedures/processes. The Senior Estimator reports to the Chief Estimator or Director of Preconstruction Services and receives report from positions including, but not limited to Estimators, Estimating Assistants, and administrative personnel assigned to preconstruction-related business. The Senior Estimator requires a forward-thinking, progressive, dynamic leader who has excellent personnel management skills, an internal and external focus, and the desire to be promoted in a growing company. Required skills include business development, client relations, subcontractor-vendor relations, excellent time management, leadership, efficiency, and fundamental estimating. The position requires significant knowledge of and experience with cutting-edge technology, processes, and procedures that produce accurate, efficient results. The Senior Estimator coordinates with other management and senior level positions within the company to share information, ensure streamlined processes across departments, and achieve the business plan of the company.
The Project Superintendent is primarily responsible for the daily management of a specific project site and all personnel working at the site. This position also requires being involved in a cooperative role with the Project Manager to maintain or improve upon the project goals in regard to safety, schedule, adherence to specifications and profitability. In the current organizational structure the Project Superintendent reports to the Director of Construction Services. The Project Superintendent position requires a solid, experienced leader who is bought into and driven by the existing principles and procedures set in place by the Company. Required qualifications include a minimum of five (5) years of construction industry experience in a lead or supervisory role, successful completion of an OSHA 10 – hour Construction Safety Class, and the desire to be promoted upon growth and expansion of the Company. The Project Superintendent is a position that must have the ability to coordinate with managers, directors, and project level positions within the company in order to optimize the success of the project and ultimately achieve the business plan of the company.
The Estimator reports to either the Senior Estimator or the Director of Preconstruction Services and works with the Preconstruction team to prepare comprehensive cost estimates. The Estimator analyzes plans and specifications, visits the site and attends pre-bid meetings (if applicable), performs quantity take-off, builds an estimate, solicits pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, assigns pricing to estimate line items, and performs all functions from start to finish to estimate a project and submit a proposal. This position requires attention to detail, appropriate time management, and a self-starting attitude. The Estimator will interact with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and local authorities.
