MBC named designer for Autocar Process Line Expansion

Murray Building Company

We are excited to be the designer for the new Autocar Process Line Expansion on Pinson Valley Parkway.  As acting designer, we are working closely with the client to design the building that is best suited for their needs as we guide and lead the preconstruction phase.   Autocar was founded in 1897 and has thrived ever since—today they have the leading number of clean vehicles on the road utilizing CNG (compressed natural gas) power.

Employee Ten Year Anniversary Celebration

Murray Building Company

We are honored to celebrate employee Charles B. McKinstry as this year marks his tenth year with Murray Building Company!  Wanting to really make it truly memorable, we decided to go for the element of surprise.  So after a routine company-wide meeting, we called everyone into another conference room where, unbeknownst to Charles, his wife and three children were waiting to celebrate him with us.  MBC is fortunate to have a team player like Charles, whose hard work and dedication is an inspiration to many.  Cheers to ten years, Charles!  And here’s to many more.

Blueprint on 3rd a hit in Birmingham’s Lakeview District

Murray Building Company

We worked with CKH Architects to bring this American brasserie to the old Birmingham Blue Print Co. building near Pepper Place.  After completely gutting the inside, renovation commenced to make co-owner Dean Robb’s vision of an industrial art and deco dining room with a zinc-top bar become a reality. The restaurant opened to serve the public delicious and elegant regional cuisine in June.

Construction begins on Mile End Deli

Murray Building Company

Murray Building Company is going to help bring Birmingham an authentic, New York-based deli to add to the Magic City’s already impressive repertoire of restaurants. Mile End Deli, based in Brooklyn, serves both Jewish comfort food and Montreal-style cuisine, made from fresh ingredients free of hormones and antibiotics.  We have just begun construction on the downtown location by Railroad Park, with the restaurant due to open in early November. Once again, MBC is working with our good friends at Poole & Company to bring this project to fruition.
