UAB Highlands 5 North Renovations

MBC was selected by UAB as the general contractor to perform architectural renovations and upgrades to transform a patient room floor into medical office space at UAB Highlands Hospital.

UAB Highlands 3rd Floor Endoscopy Renovations

MBC was awarded the general contract to renovate an existing clinical space at UAB Highlands Hospital into a new endoscopy suite with a very classy design, including finishes of a higher level than typically expected in similar clinical spaces. Working with familiar project partners Birchfield Penuel & Associates as architect and UAB as owner, MBC was able to excel in delivering this project to the satisfaction of the client.

UAB North Pavilion
6th Floor Relocation and Replacement of MRI

MBC was contracted by UAB to complete the construction of the MRI facility within the newly constructed North Pavilion. The existing space was a cold dark shell that was intended to be completed in the future. The challenges the team faced were completing the space on the 6th floor in a building that was recently completely constructed. A section of the exterior of the building had to be removed in order to locate the MRI unit into the building by crane hoist.

5th Floor Psychiatric Unit

UAB Highlands Secondary Data Center

MBC was awarded the general contract to renovate the secondary data center at UAB Highlands Hospital. Encountering the challenge of unanticipated existing electrical conditions, MBC worked closely with UAB and architect Birchfield Penuel & Associates to provide architectural upgrades, equipment upgrades, and the installation of a new dedicated HVAC system and preaction fire sprinkler system to the data center. Installation of piping and electrical distribution for these systems was coordinated and performed traversing five floors of occupied clinical space.

UAB Renovation of 2nd floor Spain Wallace TB Lab

MBC was awarded the general contract to renovate existing office space into a new tuberculosis laboratory containing clinical exhaust systems and requiring pressure sensitive HVAC design. Extremely clean site conditions stood out and were noted by UAB and architect Birchfield Penuel & Associates for the duration of the project as MBC maintained the highest level of infection control standards while working in the existing hospital to deliver the project ahead of schedule.

Forestdale Clinic Structural Renovations
Forestdale, AL
MBC was selected as the general contractor by Southpace Properties to perform structural and architectural renovations to an existing clinical facility. Renovations included pressure grouting of foundations to control differential settlement, and installation of new flooring.

JBS Mental Health Facility Improvements
Birmingham, AL
MBC was awarded the contract in December 2008 to perform interior renovations and an elevator addition to the existing facility in Southside. Architect of record for this project is Christian & Associates of Anniston, AL.
