Sam Allison
Sam
Allison, Director of Financial Operations – A native of Monroeville, Alabama, Sam
attended Troy State University for his Bachelor of Science in
Business Administration with Accounting emphasis, followed by a
Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with Accounting
concentration. He then joined Warren Averett Kimbrough & Marino, the
largest CPA firm in Birmingham, to begin his career in public
accounting. During his tenure at Warren Averett, as well as two
other CPA firms in Birmingham, Sam obtained his Certified Public
Accountant (CPA) certification and spent several years of crunching
numbers and performing audits and consulting engagements in a
variety of industries. Construction was a primary industry focus for
Sam, particularly during the economic turmoil of 2007-2009, as he
sought out ways to help see his clients through the downturn and
also took several educational courses to enhance his knowledge of
construction accounting. During this time, Sam developed a desire to
join the private sector and contribute to the success of one company
rather than assisting several entities on a smaller scale. This
desire led him to serve as the Chief Bean Counter for Murray
Building Company.
At Murray Building Company,
Sam handles all financial aspects of the company, ranging from
day-to-day accounting to the most complex issues. Sam's previous
experience, financial acumen, forecasting abilities and remarkable
attention to detail have allowed him to serve as a vital component
during the company's exceptional growth since April 2010. In
addition to financial matters, he has also served in other
operational capacities during the company's growth phase, including
human resources, administration, insurance and banking
relationships.
